Brillig and Mimsy
This piece was done for Fast Friday Fabric Challenge. We get a week to complete the work.
This months challenge was to create an abstract piece using the element of texture and based on the Lewis Carroll poem Jabberwocky. I love this!
I painted the background ... it was too muddy looking so I quilted the heck out of it to give it some life. I still did not like it so I added Angelina fibers and copper flakes ... still did not like it so I brought out the acrylic paints and added a touch of yellow here and there. This gave it the spark I was hoping for.
My favorite words from the poem were brillig, mimsy, slithy toves, and borogoves. I have put some of each in ...can you find them ?
It measures 16 by 18.
I had a blast! Once again the FUN portion of the challenge was accomplished.
